| Units of measurement

A fluid ounce is a unit of volume measure equal to 2 tablespoons, 6 teaspoons, or 1/8 cup. It is approximately equal to 30 mL.

The fluid ounce may be abbreviated as oz or, more specifically, as fl oz.

Note that the fluid ounce is distinct from the ounce.
