Description

Ingredients

Dumplings

Procedures

  1. Cut up vegetables; set aside.
  2. Cut stew beef into cubes.
  3. Braise until very brown in kettle or deep saucepan.
  4. Add vegetables.
  5. Add enough water to cover all, plus one cup.
  6. Bring to boil.
  7. Add spices, barley, and soy sauce.
  8. Simmer covered one to two hours.
  9. To serve, bring to slow boil and add dumplings.

Dumplings

  1. Mix together with fork.
  2. Drop by tablespoon onto boiling stew.
  3. Cover, cook 12 minutes.
  4. Do not peek or dumplings will get soggy.
