A freshwater shrimp
Shrimp are small, krill-like animals that roam earth's seas. Shrimp usually average in size between ½ inch to 3 inches long. They have tiny legs and are pink in color. They can live in both freshwater and salt water. They are a big source of food to whales and large fish, as well as humans.
Shrimp can be used in many recipes. It is often served with other seafood, but it can also be used as the main part of a meal. Examples include fried shrimp, Shrimp Soup, and Shrimp Cocktail Shriner.
Preparing shrimp
When preparing whole shrimp that is being put in food such as soup, the tails should be taken off.
