Juniper berries "on the stick"
| Ingredients | Spices and herbs

Juniper Berry - actually the cones of certain juniper trees, especially Junperus communis. It is used as a spice in European cuisines, and is the flavour in gin.

The berries are added either whole or slightly bruised to a variety of dishes as a spice. They are added to sauerkraut and choucroute for added flavour and crunch.
