Ingredients

Procedures

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, unfold pastry and roll into a 14-inch-by-10-inch rectangle.
  3. Cut in half lengthwise.
  4. Brush both pastry halves lightly with egg.
  5. Top half with cheese and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  6. Place remaining pastry half, egg side down, over filling-topped half.
  7. Gently seal with a rolling pin.
  8. Cut crosswise into 28½-inch strips.
  9. Twist strips into spirals.
  10. Place 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined or greased baking sheet.
  11. Brush with egg mixture.
  12. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden.
  13. Serve warm or at room temperature.
