Description
This is a delightful Moroccan treat that can be served as a snack or a dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 kg sieved flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 30g baker's yeast
Directions
Firstly, dissolve the yeast in a glass of lukewarm water (see the packet for measurements of water).
When dissolved, mix the flour, salt and yeast with a glass of lukewarm water. Then knead until dough is soft and elastic.
Place the dough in a bowl and cover with a clean cloth. Leave it to rise for approx 3 1/2 hours.
Take a small bit of dough and roll into a ball. Make sure to put a little oil on your hands to stop it sticking!
Use your fingers to make a little hole in the middle, then carefully drop the rings into a pan of hot oil.
Take them out when golden brown and well risen, and serve hot. They're best dusted with Sugar or honey.
This recipe makes 30 doughnuts.
