A metal utensil that is built with a top and bottom plate used to compress or flatten tortilla dough in preparation for baking. The tortilla is made with a dough mixture that is formed into a rounded portion to be placed between the two plates and compressed into a flat and very thin cake. It is then baked for use as a food wrap. Some tortilla presses are made to only compress the dough while others compress and bake it in the same utensil.
