Green Bean and Chickpea Salad

Ingredients
- 1 pound green beans, trimmed and cut into 2 inch pieces
- 1 can (16 oz.) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- ¼ chopped onion
- 2 tsp red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp chopped fresh basil
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 large garlic clove, crushed
- 1⅓ tsp olive oil or salad oil
Directions
- Steam the green beans until they are “tender-crisp” (about 5 minutes).
- Place beans, chickpeas, and onion in a large bowl.
- In a small bowl, combine all the dressing ingredients.
- Add the dressing to the bean mixture, tossing the ingredients well.
