Dear Adam:

I hope all is well with you. I have not been online considerably but and Things have been busy for me, I did have one question for you. On the origin of the collar and it is original use have you ever done any research?

Also, I've heard it utilized in various ways, as an example, leash getting hooked to at least one band or both bands? Which data are you privy to and what strategy do you use? I am always ready to accept learning true information.

Thanks for the time,

Jag

Dear Jag:

I do not know the history of the touch collar. It is an excellent question. It will be written about by me here, within my e-zine, if I learn such a thing about it.

So far as using one ring (the D-ring) or two (the D-ring and the safety ring)... Generally speaking, I recently connect the lead to the D-ring. This is one way the collar is made to be used.

It is possible to, however, land the leash to both bands. This may damper the correction. The pinch collar can be used by you in this way if you have an extremely sensitive dog or if you are training an exercises where--for some reason--the dog is self-correcting, inadvertently.

Like, when teaching the dog "control" in defense work, we try to connect to the dog that he must just lunge if the attack command is given, first. He then is adjusted, ahead of the attack order is given if canine lunges. However, in such a scenario, you want to error privately of under-correcting your dog, in the place of have him think that he should NOT lunge by inadvertently over-correcting.

Sound right?

That is all for the present time, folks!
