Nominated for 30 Emmys, including seven for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Set, Star Trek: Voyager continues the rich history of the first 1960s Star Trek franchise. Created by former L.A. Officer Gene Roddenberry, the Star Trek TV series morphed right into a team well-known for the unprecedented fanatical loyalty of its fan base. Enduring just three seasons all through its original network run, gold was struck by Star Trek with its syndicated reruns, releasing a number of movies featuring the witty books as well as books, original cast, collectibles, and tons of Star Trek-related memorabilia. Since the series progressed the third spin-off from the first Star Trek series, Star Trek: Voyager premiered in January 1995 to modest critical praise, but experienced great success with television people, slowly improving its scores. Following on the heels of Star Trek: Another Generation (1987) and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993), the line precedes Star Trek: Enterprise (2001) while offering an all-star cast which includes veteran actor Kate Mulgrew (whose previous TV shows include such displays as Dallas, Cheers, and Murphy Brown). Yet instead of pursuing the classic Star Trek vision to "boldly go where nobody has gone before," Star Trek: Voyager is more about going where the team has been before

Star Trek: Voyager follows the exploits of the crew aboard the starship Franklin D Roosevelt Voyager. The Voyager is on a Federation mission to capture a rogue ship of Maquis rebels (a battle first introduced in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), while the line begins. A system is entered by the Voyager as the badlands known, while in search of the Maquis, and both ships are instantly transported to the Delta Quadrant over seventy-thousand light years away on the borders of the galaxy. Quickly, equally the Maquis and the crew of Voyager learn they certainly were delivered to Delta Quadrant by the Caretaker, a mysterious force overseeing the protection of the Ocampan race who are now living in the shadow on an imminent threat from the bad Kazon. When the Kazon destroy the Maquis ship, the Voyager crew combines with the Maquis crew to guard themselves from the Kazon. Having destroyed the unit which could carry them home, the crew of the Voyager - led by Capt. Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), and the crew of the Maquis ship - light emitting diode by Commander Chakotay (Robert Beltran), must are a united front so that you can meet their mutual goal of finding a way home

The Star Trek: Voyager DVD features a quantity of interesting episodes including the series premiere "Caretaker" in which the Federation starship Cv-42 Voyager, led by Capt. Kathryn Janeway, is abruptly transferred 70,000 light years away while using a group of Maquis rebels via an region referred to as the badlands. The Voyager's new spot is the Delta Quadrant, an uncharted area of the universe supervised by the Caretaker and confronted by the colonial violence of the Kazon Other distinctive episodes from Season 1 include "The Cloud" in which the Voyager accidentally harms an life form while searching for a compound to boost its power supply, and "Learning Curve" in which people of Commander Chakotay's ragtag Maquis team are given a Starfleet Academy tutorial on how to act properly aboard the Voyager
