Hermits III

Ingredients

• ½ cup butter or shortening
• ½ cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup chopped raisins
• 1 tablespoons molasses
• 1 teaspoon each of all kinds of spice (mace, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, cloves, etc)
• ½ teaspoon soda
• flour

Directions

1. Cream fat, add sugar gradually.
2. Add eggs, molasses and raisins.
3. Sift soda and spices with one cup of flour, and mix all thoroughly.
4. Add enough flour to make quite a stiff enough, and roll.
5. Bake in a moderate oven (380°F).
