Banana's Foster
Description
Bananas Foster [1] [2] is a famous dessert from New Orleans, this is an amazing treat.
Ingredients
- 4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 tsp sugar
- 6 tbsp (3/4 stick) butter
- 3 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
- 6 ripe bananas, peeled and quartered
- 1/3 cup dark rum
- 1/3 cup banana liqueur
- 6 scoops vanilla ice cream
Procedures
- Combine cinnamon and white sugar, then set aside.
- Combine butter anbd brown sugar, set mixture over a flame until it melts together.
- Include bananas to heat for ~1 minute.
- Remove pan from heat.
- Add in rum.
- Place over heat again.
- Ignite alcohol.
- Sprinkle in cinnamon mixture into the flames, flames should diminish.
- Remove pan from heat.
- Include banana liqueur.
- Place over heat again.
- Ignite again.
- Stir well.
- To serve: put a scoop of ice cream in a champagne glass, then add hot banana mixture.
- Serve immediately.
