Boston Baked Sausage and Rice
Makes 6 servings.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds smoked country-style link Sausage
- 1 cup chopped Onion
- 3/4 cup Catsup
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 1/2 cups cooked rice
Procedures
- Cook Sausage in small amount of water in covered pan for 10 minutes.
- Drain and cut Sausage into 2-1/2-inch pieces.
- Combine Onion, Catsup, syrup, mustard, liquid smoke, salt, pepper and rice.
- Turn into buttered 2-quart casserole.
- Arrange Sausage on top. Cover.
- Bake at 350 degrees 30 to 40 minutes.
