Makes 6 to 8 servings.

  1. Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil and butter until onion is tender.
  2. Stir in beans, tomato, wine, chili powder, cloves, salt and pepper; cover and simmer 20 minutes.
  3. Stir in cilantro. Serve over hot rice.
