  1. Combine the grated potatoes, egg and evaporated milk.
  2. Sauté the onion, bay leaves and peppercorns in butter.
  3. Remove leaves and peppercorns.
  4. Add saute mixture to potato mixture; stir thoroughly.
  5. Place in greased 9 x 13 inch glass casserole.
  6. Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes, or at 350°F for 40 minutes; until center is done.
