Venison Pepper Steak
Description
This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Steep Estate in Elmo, Texas in 1989. From "Catsrecipes Y-Group"[1]
Ingredients
- 2 large deer steaks
- ½ cup shortening
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ cup flour
- 1 large white onion slice
- 2 medium green peppers sliced
Procedures
- Tenderize steaks with meat mallet.
- Heat shortening on medium low heat then roll steaks in flour, salt and pepper and place in hot shortening.
- Brown slightly on one side then turn.
- Add onions, green pepper and Worcestershire sauce and sauté slightly on second side.
- Serve immediately.
