Green chile sauce From "Catsrecipes Y-Group"[1]

  • Makes 2 cups

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a medium pan, heat oil lover medium heat.
  2. Add onion and cook until softened but not browned, 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Stir in flour until well blended.
  4. Cook 1 minute longer.
  5. Add tomatoes with their juice, chiles, garlic, salt and cumin.
  6. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thickened, about 20 minutes.
  7. Let cool before serving.
  8. Store in refrigerator up to 3 days, or freeze.
  9. Serve at room temperature.
  10. Unlike most salsas, this freezes well.
