  • Makes 2 cups of rose vinegar, 1⅓ cups dressing.

Procedures[edit]

  1. Trim away white part of rose petals.
  2. Wash petals thoroughly.
  3. Drain and pat dry.
  4. Toss rose petals with lettuce.
  5. Toss mixture with rose vinegar dressing just before serving.

Rose vinegar[edit]

  1. Trim away white part of rose petals. Wash petals thoroughly and drain.
  2. Slightly bruise petals and put petals and cloves in a wide mouth canning jar.
  3. Put vinegar in medium pan. Bring to boil.
  4. Pour vinegar over rose petals.
  5. Cover at once with metal lids. Screw bands tight.
  6. Let stand at room temperature 1 week.
  7. Strain vinegar into decorative jars. Discard rose petal residue.
  8. Seal jars with a cork or other airtight lid. Store in a cool dry place.

Rose vinegar dressing[edit]

  1. Mix all ingredients in container of blender.
  2. Process on low speed 30 seconds.
  3. Chill thoroughly.
  4. Stir well before serving.
